Landus will begin sourcing grain for Standard Nutrition Services sites in Emmetsburg and Waverly through Optimization partnership

February 15, 2022– Standard Nutrition Services LLC today announced an agreement to access Landus grain origination services for its Emmetsburg and Waverly, Iowa toll milling locations. Through this partnership Standard Nutrition Services will leverage the grain origination expertise and services of Landus to source quality inputs for its two northern Iowa operations.

“As a provider of nutrition consulting and livestock management services, we are focused on the independent livestock producers we serve. Along with an agricultural landscape that continues to become increasingly competitive, we recognize that we are not experts in grain origination. This drives our decision to access these services externally so that we can stay focused on being the most trusted advisor for our livestock producers and partners,” said Pat Joyce, President of Standard Nutrition Services.

Landus, Iowa’s largest farmer-owned agricultural cooperative in Iowa, recently launched its Optimization strategy designed to embrace collaboration and identify opportunities for complementary companies to work together to benefit the ag producers they serve.

“Through optimization we can bring together each company’s strengths to offer superior ag solutions to producers in this region. The Landus team looks forward to supporting Standard Nutrition Services’ quality feed manufacturing operations with our grain procurement resources and expertise. Landus is committed to working with like-minded partners as we continue to seek out valuable grain destinations on behalf of our more than 7,000 farmer-owners,” said Matt Carstens, President and CEO of Landus.

“We are excited to introduce Landus to partner with our regional teams and provide another competitive bid for the Emmetsburg and Waverly, Iowa locations. We look forward to exploring other synergies that allow us to drive even more value to our livestock producers through this collaborative agreement,” said Joyce.

Prior to this partnership, Standard accessed origination through MaxYield Cooperative, who was recently acquired by New Cooperative. Area producers should expect no disruption to their feed-sourcing or grain delivery needs amid this transition. Standard Nutrition Services and Landus are working to contact all area producers to transition grain procurement activities in early March.
