CornBoard™, manufactured from corn stover, represents increased profitability and sustainability opportunities
AMES, IOWA (April 22, 2021) - Landus, a farmer-owned cooperative based in Iowa, is committed to identifying new revenue streams for its members through collaborations with innovators. Landus is currently building a relationship with Corn Board Manufacturing, Inc (CBMI) a producer of CornBoard™, an environmentally responsible alternative to pressed wood products made from corn stover.

Landus farmer-owners will have the opportunity to supply corn stover to a new Corn Board production facility currently under construction in Odebolt, Iowa. CornBoard, the product, will be used to make pallets that weigh less but have the same, if not stronger, structural integrity as traditional wood pallets, as well as a longer life span.
“We will not only pay each farmer for the corn stover left in their fields following harvest, we will bale and transport it as well,” said Lane Segerstrom. “We look forward to working with Landus farmer-owners to supply our new plant.”
