Dear Landus Farmer-Owners,
As you begin harvest 2020, the number of COVID-19 positive cases in Iowa, and at our cooperative, are on the rise.
We recognize harvest is a make or break time for your operation. We have been working hard to identify the right (and delicate) balance of protecting your health and safety and providing excellent customer service.
To protect our team, our farmers and our communities, effective Thurs. Sept. 10,
- Our location’s lobby areas and offices will be closed to non-essential employees, vendors and customers.
- We have asked our employees not to ask for combine or grain cart ride-alongs.
We know our locations teams are critical to your harvest success, especially when it comes to paperwork and grain quality and moisture checks. Please save your location’s phone number in your cell phone and give us a call anytime. We are ready to work with you on grabbing samples at the door, from your truck window or through the scale window. Our portal and app are available for scale ticket information, requesting a new delivery, harvest hours, or signing your grain contracts.
We know none of these feel normal or are what we prefer. However, we must band together now, more than ever, to keep our locations open this fall.
These protocols have been put in place because, according to the CDC, our team has potential exposure to the coronavirus if they have been within a 6 ft distance for 15 minutes or more within 48 hours before someone who is COVID-positive first starts exhibiting symptoms. This is irrespective of whether the person with COVID or symptoms was wearing a mask.
Our team is here to help. We know that due to drought and the derecho, this harvest will be a tough one for many. Our role is to find a home for your grain. Please, communicate with your team. You are not alone in your concerns and our employees are empowered to work within our safety protocols to serve your operation.
You own this cooperative and we’re here to put you at the center of our operations this fall.
