HR Testimonial Ashley Smeby 032221 vf

Account Manager Ashley Smeby is proud to serve the community she is from.

Ashley is from Garner IA, where some of her favorite memories growing up include helping her father on their family farm. From there, she attended Iowa State University, earning a degree in Animal Science and Agronomy. This is how Ashley became a Landus Account Manager, covering the Britt, Rake, Thompson, Altoona, Bondurant, Collins, and Pleasant Hill areas.

As an account manager, Ashley is the first point of contact between the Landus location and the customer, and helps the customer manage their farming business from start to finish. She has been with Landus for two years now, and has really enjoyed her time growing her customers, as well as growing in the account manager role.

“My favorite part of working for Landus has been building trust with both Landus customers and employees. I like being that trusted partner and a reliable point of contact where customers can get the answers and support they need,” she said. In addition, she shared that she enjoys the flexibility that the account manager role provides - no day is the same, and she gets the opportunity to work both in an office as well as onsite with farmers.

Working with several locations, Ashley has seen a number of great things happen across the Landus territory. “I am proud to have helped grow the business at the Rake location over the last two years. I also felt very empowered by the Collins location, as they have brought in new customers and are introducing them to all Landus has to offer, such as direct shipping to end users,” she said.

Outside of work, Ashley and her fiancé have their own farming operation. They currently plant row crops, as well as have a cow/calf operation. She also is a member of the Iowa Corn Growers Association, sitting on the District 2 Committee, where she says she enjoys spending her time with this organization as it is another way to connect with and advocate for Iowa farmers.
