Scouting Harvest 9

Opening Calls:

Corn: up 2 to 3 cents

Beans: steady/mixed

Good morning,

Markets were closed last night and reopened at 8:30 AM for a short trading day closing at noon. The corn market closed down Wednesday as harvest winds down and there is continued competition from South America. This morning the USDA will release the weekly export sales report with bears predicting numbers to be below yearly estimates. Soybeans also closed lower Wednesday as South America continues to be competitive and the potential for Brazil to increase their bean acres. Bears in the market are concerned that the Hong Kong Bill signed Wednesday may complicate Chinese trade negotiations further. As the harvest season starts to wind down and you begin to look at coring bins contact your local GMA for your marketing options.
